In the province of Albacete alone, there are 405,690 mobile lines for its 387,529 inhabitants. That is to say, we have more than one terminal per head, which makes this technology the most widespread and used in its entire territory.
For this reason, it is not surprising that the mobile phone and, to a lesser extent, the computer, are the physical support, the hardware of a new tool that is intended to be made available to irrigators, called RETOaguaCLM.
It is an application, an APP whose function is to help farmers control two crucial variables, which are irrigation water and fertilizers, and it will be presented to society next Thursday in Albacete.
This free APP is a joint initiative of the Regional Center for Water Studies (CREA), the Provincial Agricultural Technical Institute and the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Rural Development of Castilla-La Mancha.
As for the presentation ceremony, it will take place early in the afternoon at the Higher Technical School of Agricultural and Forestry Engineers and Biotechnology (Etsiamb), on the Campus of the Regional University.
With this APP, the organizers point out, the aim is to adapt irrigation programming to the real availability of water as well as the use of fertilizers, with the aim of maximizing agronomic and economic productivity.
We also want to make a team of specialists in irrigation and fertilization management available to farmers to resolve any questions they may have through an online consulting service.
The day will have two phases. The first will be theoretical, focused on key aspects of irrigation and fertilization; The second will be practical, and in it the technicians will show the irrigators how to use the APP on their plots.
From the organization, two options are given to access the application. The first is through the Google Play Store, like any other application, similar to the ones we already have on our mobile.
The other is from the page of the Ministry of Agriculture. In this case, you must click on the RETOaguaCLM image, located on the left side of the screen with the following address:
