Even with its centimeters, the creators of the Olympic collection matched. “Only pants made of costumes would fit longer, otherwise everything is comfortable and elastic, similar to the clothes we wear in training,” he praised the outfit for the expected Japanese laundry with high temperatures and humidity.
“I’ve never been to Japan before, even though we planned to go there as part of a holiday trip to Asia, it just never worked out,” says Balvin. Unlike most of his teammates, who only know Tokyo within the closed Olympic bubble of the Olympic Village and Hall, he will now have the space to explore the land of the rising sun in more detail.
After two years in Bilbao, he will become a Gunma Crane Thunders player from the new season and will move straight from Tokyo to the club’s headquarters in Maebashi. “We will start the season on August 16th. If I returned to the Czech Republic, it would be complicated, I would have to quarantine again due to restrictions. So I’ll be there some ten to twelve days before the start of the season, “he plans.
He packed two extra bags and an extra computer for Tokyo, his faithful partner Charlie still has to wait for the move. “It will arrive sometime in the middle of the season, the Japanese government requires an examination to be able to travel, it will take some time,” Balvin guesses.
The planned mini-holiday in Mallorca after the winning qualification also fell victim to the preparations for the transfer. “I had to do a lot of things just before departure, including the visa, so I had almost no time off,” he admitted.

But he likes to sacrifice a few days of rest for the Olympic promotion, but he immediately remembers the famous basketball moments from previous games.
