The president of PKN Orlen, Daniel Obajtek, “took pity” on motorists and announced a promotion in which every driver, who belongs to the Vitay loyalty program from 27 June with an application or from 1 July with a card, will receive a fuel discount of 30 groszy per liter. The holders of the Large Family Card are even better. They will be able to refuel with a discount of 40 groszy. The promotion is to last until the end of the holidays. Everything seems simple.
But that’s not all, as there are some catch. You can fill up to 50 liters of promotional fuel at one time. Moreover, such a discount can only be used three times a month. This means that the maximum savings will be PLN 45 per month, and for Big Family Card holders — PLN 60. Exactly, but some people will not be able to save even that much.
Do you have a small tank? Get the canisters
All because of the capacity of the fuel tanks in cars. Smaller city cars often have tanks, the capacity of which is often 30-40 liters. Assuming that we would refuel 30 liters three times a month, our savings decrease to PLN 27. The only way to get an additional discount is to refill the canisters to use the full potential.
In addition, even if we have a tank with a capacity of 50 liters, full savings could be achieved by coming to the station only on vapors.
With a large tank, you also have to count
On the other hand, drivers with cars with larger fuel tanks, exceeding 50 liters, must also be careful if they want to take advantage of the promotion in full. If you fill up with more fuel, only a fraction of it will be cheaper. Also, if we don’t drive enough, we just won’t be able to burn off enough fuel to fulfill our potential. Better to just refuel 50 liters, no more and no less.
Of course, you can also try to set up another loyalty card, for example for a family member, then you can use the promotion six times. This is a good option for someone who drives a lot, has a small fuel tank and doesn’t want to mess with refueling.
