The instant communication application “WhatsApp” recently increased the number of users able to join groups from 256 to 1024 users, which can be annoying, especially in terms of alerts.
The “WABetaInfo” site, which follows the news of “WhatsApp” firsthand, said that the application is currently testing a trial version in which alerts in groups with more than 256 users are automatically silenced, which means that they will not appear on the user’s phone screen. According to Sky News Arabia.
This service extends to all users, whether they are active in groups or not.
The site obtained a screenshot showing a note at the bottom of the screen when joining a group with more than 256 subscribers, and the note says that alerts will automatically silence in this group and ask the user to accept or decline the question.
This step came after ‘WhatsApp’ realized that the user didn’t want to hear from anyone in a way that flooded his phone’s interface with alerts at the expense of other things like SMS and missed calls.
