The municipality of Aurillac, in Cantal, is considering turning off part of the public lighting, between midnight and 5 am. Ecological, economic but also civic reasons, to set an example for the inhabitants. Of the 6,000 street lamps in the city, 2,000 would be turned off. Only the city center, equipped with LED lighting, would not be interested. If the project is validated, it lights up at 1is November.
