There will not be christmas ice rink this year to Vincennes (Val de Marna). The municipality inaugurated in mid-October 2022 a energy sobriety plan to cope with rising gas and electricity prices.
A “more sober” installation.
No details have yet been communicated on the “more sober system” which should replace the ephemeral skating rink, installed every winter on the esplanade of the Town Hall.
To cope with a “risk of lack of electricity or gas”, the municipality has therefore adopted sober measures to reduce energy consumption. In addition to the skating rink, some activities will be subject to restrictions such as limiting the use of the large-volume halls of the city hall, or grouping courses and sports activities in a limited number of facilities in order to reduce heating in others.
Christmas lights and water saving
Another important item of electricity consumption in winter: Christmas decorations. To save money, the Municipality decided, in liaison with the traders who ensure the installation, of diminish the power slots of the Christmas lights center.
As in many municipalities, the heating will also be lowered in municipal premises. Vincennes also chose to do so remove hot water in most of the sanitary facilities and facilities in the city, apart from nurseries, day care centers and places that allow showers. The municipal street washing rate will also be reduced in a spirit of “rational water consumption”.
The measures adopted by the municipality are evolutionary. The Municipality therefore invites its inhabitants to participate by giving ideas to contribute to the energy sobriety plan of the City jeparticipe.vincennes.fr.
