The American newspaper “Women’s Wear Daily” has announced that the design director of the “Gucci” house, Alessandro Michele, will leave his post after 20 years, and a statement is expected from “Gucci” in this regard.
According to Agence France-Presse, the French group Kering, owner of the Italian brand, has not commented on the news.
The American newspaper quoted an anonymous source as saying that what was required of Alessandro Michele was to make a change to the designs to relaunch the brand.
Kering CEO Francois-Henri Pinault wants to make rapid changes to the group’s most important brand, another source quoted the newspaper.
“This news is very good,” said Bernstein’s consulting firm, adding that “Gucci” suffers from a lack of brand renewal, and Alessandro Michele has been doing the same job for seven years.
