“To (re) discover the treasures of the North Caribbean”, for a new encounter with Martinique

The first volume of the “Splendeurs de la Martinique” series

Along a story of walks on the roads of the North Caribbean, the writing of the book “In the (re) discovery of the treasures of the North Caribbean” is illustrated by photos, meetings with inhabitants, merchants, or even fishermen crossed on the road.
The author, Fabien Prakash, who arrived in Martinique 18 months ago, came up with this project with the principal of the Cluny convent to allow students to better understand their territory, as the author explains:

They are not sites, but rather the various meetings with the inhabitants. These are special moments to arrive by car, at the top of a hill or at the bottom of the valley.

This is a self-published work by Chafab and Co editions, and the first volume of a series called “Splendeurs de la Martinique”, which should present each region of Martinique, allowing the young reader to survey the island from north to south.

A traveling author

The discovery and knowledge of his living environment encourage Fabien Prakash, professor of history and geography for more than 20 years in Belgium, to address the youngest. Because its history is also paved with travels. He arrives in particular with his family in Martinique thanks to the network of convents of Saint Joseph de Cluny, establishments which himself took in as a child in Pondicherry in India, before his adoption by Belgian parents.

And this is not the first adventure of the Prakash family, who have already led a crossing of South East Asia for a year. Their adventures were then recorded in a blog, “The Notebooks of Cha-Fab and co“.

“In the (re) discovery of the treasures of the North Caribbean” thus makes it possible to disseminate to the greatest number all the fascination to rediscover with a new eye yet familiar regions.
