As the program points out, there is no common plan in the country taking into account new threats after the war in Ukraine, there is no main commander, no reserves, no extensive practical training.
The new interior minister believes that the situation in the country as a whole must first be known, then prepare a plan and create a new management operations center.
Such a center would most likely be under the prime minister’s authority, so that endless bureaucratic coordination would not be required for every small operation.
“Put simply, it’s a separate, relatively small, 24/7 monitoring of what’s happening. Because a crisis can’t just be a war, a crisis can also arise somewhere else.” , explained the minister to the program.
“The center (..) is made up of specialists who carry out their daily work, but they are trained and are called to act in this center at X hour,” said Kučinskis.
