The board of directors of Rosario Central, headed by Gonzalo Belloso, hired the criminal lawyer Mariano Cúneo Libarona to investigate and initiate actions against the previous CD and administrative staffor for irregularities detected in the audit carried out.
“In the audit that was carried out at the club after the change of government, serious irregularities were detected, some of which could be listed as crimes of fraud and fraudulent administration,” the statement initially says.
For this reason, “added to the statutory responsibility of safeguarding the interests of the club, the Rosario Central CD decided to hire the renowned criminal lawyer Mariano Cúneo Libarona and a team of accounting experts.”
“They will be in charge of determining if the data provided by the expertise carried out so far is enough to file a complaint with the courts and, in that case, also define the degree of responsibility that would fall on the leaders on duty and the accountant. Romina Baronti, who could be an instigator or a decisive participant in these maneuvers given the role played that would be corroborated from testimonies collected,” the text later explains.
As for Cúneo Libarona, he has, among other things, the history of having brought forward a lawsuit for alleged fraudulent administration in River against former president Daniel Passarella and his leadership, who had to appear in an oral trial for the case.
In addition, as regards his work linked to the world of football, Cúneo Libarona was a lawyer and advisor to various sports institutions, and still is today to others such as Racing and River. He was consulted on various occasions by the Argentine Football Association and also legally represented different footballers (Diego Armando Maradona, Claudio Caniggia, Martín Palermo, Ezequiel Lavezzi, among others), and was also required after various conflicts involving: Andrés D ‘ Alessando, Luis Oscar “Lucho” González, and others.
In addition, members of the current CD Auriazul confirmed that, in the last months of the mandate of the previous CD, even while in office, Baronti has offered his services to other clubs and representatives of Argentine soccer: “Serious unethical conduct. And now who is no longer in RC, is actively offering his services in clubs and intermediary agencies; something delicate considering that he handles sensitive information about “the numbers” of Rosario Central”.
The novelty was not well received by the rogue leaders, who would be willing to sue her if they consider it so.
