To New York and LA: BER receives further direct connections to the USA

Berliners and Brandenburgers will soon be able to use additional direct flight connections to the USA. The Norwegian company Norse Atlantic Airways will connect BER Airport with New York and Los Angeles from mid-August, the company announced on Wednesday. New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport will be served daily from August 17 and Los Angeles three times a week from August 19. Cargo services are also to be offered with the Boeing 787 machines.

The airline competes with United Airlines at BER. The US company has been flying from Schönefeld to New York Airport since March.

So far, the company founded last year is not yet up in the air. She is planning the first flights from Oslo to the USA next week. So far, a fleet of 15 machines is planned.

So far there are direct long-haul connections at BER to Singapore, Doha and in winter to Dubai. Politics and companies in the region have been calling for more long-haul routes for the new airport for years. Even at the former Tegel Airport, there was only a one-digit number. In most cases, passengers from Berlin and Brandenburg have to change trains at hubs such as Frankfurt and Munich for longer connections.
