The Russian Federation has deployed units of the Russian Guard in the Zaporozhye direction to maintain military discipline and prevent panic among the occupiers. Those who want to surrender are shot.
This was stated in the evening summary of the General Staff on Sunday 8 January.
So, on January 5, near Chistopolye, the Russians shot six people who expressed their position on the surrender to the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

The Russian army is conducting offensive operations in the Bakhmut, Avdeevsky and Liman directions, trying to improve the tactical situation in the Kupyansky. The Russians are focusing on capturing the Donetsk region within the administrative border, but to no avail.
The situation in the Volyn, Polessky, Seversky, Slobozhansky directions is without significant changes. The General Staff did not record any signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups on the territory of Belarus.
