Before the start of the 2024/2025 season, Michal Janeček revealed the news in the squad and how the men of SK Prostějov 1913 would like to move forward. That is, the most professional. The head coach and manager of the team he put together in his own image. During the interview, he stated that he was satisfied with the response from the players from last year’s successful year. He would like to build on these successes this year as well, but above all it will be about maintaining a great atmosphere in the cabin. He also commented on the changes in the staff, which, however, did not happen much, and at the end of the evaluation he did not fail to mention the importance of the second hall for all sports that cannot do without ice.
* When did negotiations on the new season begin?
“It was shortly after the end of the season that the first emotions subsided. I asked the guys if they wanted to continue. I was pleased that they all said they would like at least one more season. It was definitely helped by the atmosphere in the club and the dressing room, which was great. Even the experienced players got a little younger. It was really fun all year.”
* Are there any new arrivals?
“We have newcomers. One of them is Šimon Taršinský, a young boy who went through youth. He then went to school and played for the university in Pardubice. Now he has returned home. Another player is Ivo Kučera, who is not the youngest, but he also passed through Prostějov and played for local amateurs. Unfortunately, he got injured in training, but I believe he will be fine soon. We brought the young man from Žďár nad Sázavou. He is Michal Nedvěd, he moved here and expressed interest in trying it out. He looks very good, he went through the junior extra league. The last newcomer is Patrik Ulbrich. We have him from Vyškov for alternate starts, he went through the Komety youth system.”
* Will the boys from the junior team, who could gradually move up, also get space?
“They were already with us in both preliminaries. There were a total of seven in the first duel and five in the second. After that we evaluated it and now three defenders and two forwards will be regularly involved with us. These are the forwards of Vojtěch Koutné, who is very skilled, I will definitely take him to matches often. The second is Marek Svoboda. He’s the captain of the junior team, passionate about hockey and does everything for it, so I’m counting on him. The defenders are Lukáš Kubík, Martin Řepa and Zbyněk Kasal. Then there is one junior in goal in the sights, we are currently negotiating there.”
