Mochamad Iriawan delivered the Extraordinary Congress (KLB) PSSI will be held soon. This was communicated after holding an Executive Committee (Exco) meeting.
PSSI held an Exco meeting on Friday (10/28/2022) WIB evening at its office located at the GBK Arena in downtown Jakarta. The meeting was attended by 12 members of Exco.
“We have decided to speed up the ordinary electoral congress through the mechanism of the extraordinary congress according to the organizational rules,” said PSSI general president Mochamad Iriawan on the federation’s official YouTube channel.
In article 34 paragraph 2 of the PSSI statute, the KLB can be exercised if at least 2/3 of the delegates (electors), representing the members of the PSSI, submit a written request.
“Then Exco PSSI will start the verification phase and then hold an extraordinary congress within a period of no more than three months after the completion of the verification process,” continued Iriawan.
Persis Solo and Persebaya Surabaya are actually two clubs that declare KLB and write letters to PSSI. This then seemed to create the impression that there were two factions on the side of the voters and the PSSI did not want this to happen.
“However, Exco PSSI has decided to speed up the KLB elections by paying attention to the letters sent by two of its members. Because Exco PSSI does not want divisions among its members. Exco is the mandate chosen by the delegation representing PSSI members,” Iriawan said .
PSSI will then send a letter to FIFA notifying the KLB of the congress proposal. A notification letter to FIFA will be released by PSSI on Monday (31/10).
