MATARAM Hospitals of Siloam Mataram has conducted kidney health trainings. The education titled “Healthy Kidneys Without Stones and Strong Body” which was held on December 16, 2022 introduced the speakers Dr. Pebrian Jauhari Sp.U.

One that interferes with kidney health is the formation of stones in the urinary tract. Dr. Pebrian Jauhari explained that stones in the urinary tract or in scientific language urolithiasis can block circulation from the kidneys to the urethra.

According to him, whether or not stones form in the urinary tract is determined by the balance between stone-forming substances and inhibitors. “The stones that form will cause interference with the urinary tract, interference metabolicurinary tract infections, dehydration and idiopathic,” he said.

He further explained that stone formation in the urinary tract is more prone to occur between the ages of 30-50 and with a 3:1 risk ratio between men and women.

As regards medical management, he continued to relieve pain by performing laboratory and radiological investigations, ESWL (Extracorporeal Shockwave Lithotripsy) and PCNL (Percutaneous Nephrolitolapassia) procedures. To prevent stones from forming in the urinary tract, doctors advise avoiding dehydration. Every day must meet the requirement of 2-3 liters of water. In addition, a diet low in protein, oxalate, salt and purines is also followed.

“As well as medical care for the sick, i.e. therapy as a treatment or taking oral medicines, pills, capsules, injections or infusions,” he explained.
