The fire brigade released a child this afternoon who had been trapped with a finger in an ATM for almost two hours, in a hardware store in Stadskanaal.
“It was a nasty incident,” a spokesperson for the Groningen Security Region told RTV North. “We were able to take the machine apart and finally managed to free the child.”
The hardware store was evacuated during the incident. An air ambulance was also on the scene. The child has been taken to hospital.
It is unclear what caused the child to become trapped.
