According to him, Athens is thus responding to the unfavorable development of the epidemiological situation in the Czech Republic, specifically to the increase in the number of those infected with the new coronavirus.

“Unfortunately, according to the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control, we are the second worst country in the EU in terms of the number of people infected per 100,000 inhabitants, otherwise we would have reacted in the same way. I will try to discuss at least the exceptions for already paid tours. The decision should be made on Friday, “said the head of Czech diplomacy.

The Greeks also want to tighten travel for Belgium, Spain, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary and other countries.

So far, the tests have been random
The obligation of negative tests was announced by Athens for air travel from the Czech Republic in mid-August. At that time, however, it was finally canceled after negotiations between Prime Minister Andrej Babiš and Czech diplomacy with the Greek government. Passengers by air from the Czech Republic and other countries are now randomly tested at airports in Greece, and before the trip, tourists must fill in an electronic form – Passenger Locator Form (PLF) with information about their place of residence in Greece. They will then receive a QR code by e-mail, which they must present upon arrival in the country.
