To donate pet food this Saturday at Parque Caracolí!

Santander. The next Saturday February 20, Juan Fernando Sierra Martínez, better known as ‘Juancho’, the famous animal activist who for more than seven years has been committed to the dogs and cats of Santander, will join Parque Caracolí in order to collect food for them.

In the first floor main door, from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm, A tent will be set up in which ‘Juancho’ will receive food for the 700 dogs and more than 350 cats belonging to almost 40 foundations who work for their quality of life in Bucaramanga and the metropolitan area, among them the Fundación Caridad Animal. There will also be puppies for adoption and those interested will go through a selection process for the delivery of these pets.

According to a census prepared between 2017 and 2018, by the Mayor’s Office of Bucaramanga and the Cooperative University of Colombia (UCC), there are about 72,000 cats and dogs in the city. Due to the pandemic, the trend of abandonment of this type of pets has been on the rise.

Taking into account this reality, Parque Caracolí and ‘Juancho’ will have this collection point, where they will receive all kinds of donations of pet food (concentrated), either in new packages, bags or as people wish to deliver it, as long as it is fresh.
