The Preventive Medicine Sector at the Ministry of Health and Population announced that with regard to the procedures and requirements currently being followed to enter Egyptian territory in light of the pandemic, the General Administration of Quarantine has stated that, during the current time, entry to the Arab Republic of Egypt, whether Egyptians or foreigners, whether by land, sea or air is prohibited. Without the incoming person being accompanied by a PCR analysis to detect the Coronavirus, with a negative result, at most 72 hours before the scheduled take-off of the plane heading directly to the Arab Republic of Egypt, and at most 72 hours before arrival to Egyptian territory arriving by land or sea.
The controls indicated that for airports (Sharm El Sheikh, Taba, Hurghada and Marsa Alam) for non-PCR test holders) to detect the Corona virus, a PCR analysis is performed for a financial cost of $ 30, provided that the swabs are withdrawn with the knowledge of the quarantine or under its supervision and sent to Immediately to the laboratories of the Ministry of Health and Population concerned, and passengers are allowed, provided that those in residence hotels are isolated until the test result is issued.
With regard to cases with positive results of the virus, self-isolation is required in the residence room without mixing or interacting, and coordinating with the relevant health affairs directorates and curative affairs to implement preventive and curative health measures in accordance with the protocol established during the period of stay in Egypt and until leaving the country with the tourist group.
A PCR analysis will be conducted to detect the Corona virus for those coming from truck drivers and crews coming from the countries of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan through the ports of Nuweiba and Safaga at the ports of arrival, against a financial cost of $ 30, or its equivalent, provided that the swabs are withdrawn immediately The arrival of the ferry, container or ship with the concerned truck drivers and crews on board and sending it immediately to the competent Ministry of Health laboratories, before starting the exit procedures from the port and waiting for the results of the analysis, with the exception of children who are not more than 6 years old.
With regard to stranded Egyptian transport drivers who work in the field of land freight between Egypt and Sudan, swabs are taken for stranded people daily and sent for analysis in Aswan
In contrast to Corona procedures, for those coming from areas affected by the risks of yellow fever transmission, presenting an international certificate of vaccination (valid) against yellow fever disease, entering the Arab Republic of Egypt, for travelers aged 9 months and over, and also for arriving (transit) travelers who stayed for more than 12 hours in transit. Among the countries at risk is the transmission of yellow fever.
As for those coming from countries where the polio virus is endemic, they must possess an international certificate stating that they received the vaccination before arrival, within a period of (4 weeks – 12 months) at most without age restriction, in order to be allowed to obtain an entry visa.
With regard to holding diplomatic meetings and parties, the Ministry recommends the need to adhere to Prime Minister Decision No. 1684 of 2020, in addition to commitment to apply preventive and precautionary measures to prevent the emerging corona virus.
The Ministry of Health said that the mechanism for applying this is through the use of remote thermal screening devices, and the necessity to adhere to wearing masks throughout the period of presence in gatherings, and to maintain spatial spacing (a distance of at least 2 meters) with all attendees and avoid crowded places, in addition to avoiding participation Personal tools and disinfection of common surfaces (chairs, tables, phones, keyboards …..) with diluted chlorine or antiseptics, and to maintain sneeze and cough etiquette using paper tissues, wash hands for at least half a minute or rub them with alcohol 70% periodically.
