To Completely Investigate Cooking Oil Corruption, Attorney General’s Office Has Examined 30 Witnesses Until DPR Summons Trade Minister

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV – President Jokowi has ordered the Attorney General’s Office to thoroughly investigate the alleged corruption in the export of cooking oil, which involved four suspects, one of which was the Director General of Foreign Trade at the Ministry of Trade, Indrasari Wisnu Wardhana.

In addition to the Attorney General’s Office, which continues to investigate this case, the DPR will also ask for information from the Minister of Trade, Muhammad Lutfi.

President Jokowi, prohibits the export of palm oil and cooking oil starting April 28, 2022, so that domestic cooking oil stocks are abundant.

The AGO considers that export permits should be rejected because they do not meet the requirements amid the scarcity of cooking oil, and domestic sales prices that do not comply with regulations.

Meanwhile, the Chair of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, confirmed that the DPR will again summon the Minister of Trade, M Lutfi, next week to explain the corruption in cooking oil involving officials from the Ministry of Trade.

The Attorney General’s Office has examined 30 witnesses, electronic evidence and searched 10 places in the cooking oil corruption case.
