To celebrate the end-of-year holidays, Dior unveils the “Carrousel of Dreams” in New York

As the end-of-year holidays approach, the House of Dior unveils an ephemeral installation across the entire facade of the New York department store Saks Fifth Avenue. If this “Carrousel of Dreams” focuses above all on the spectacular character, it is also part of the quest for meaning by marking the 70th anniversary of the collaboration between the house and the retailer.

The star, the clover, the signs of the Zodiac: on the 35 meter high wheel which overlooks the prestigious Fifth Avenue, Dior wanted to display the symbols dear to its founder. Presented until January 5, 2024, this unique installation also echoes the motif designed by illustrator Pietro Ruffo for the latest Dior Croisière fashion show.

Launched with great fanfare with a performance by 60 dancers from the Martha Graham Dance Company, the operation is the subject of unique light shows every evening. Presented every day, they cover three successive themes: creation, nature and winter.

The experience also continues inside the store. On the ground floor, a veritable carousel almost five meters high – topped with Dior’s lucky star – brings to life the unwavering links between the House and the United States. On this imaginary merry-go-round, delicate white canvases – an ode to the unrivaled talents of Petites Mains and Les Ateliers – present silhouettes designed by Christian Dior who have left their mark on the history of fashion and haute couture. One by one, these silhouettes come to life in a choreography that seems to repeat itself endlessly, captivating visitors throughout the day.
