Jakarta –
Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita has leaked that the government will provide subsidies for the use of electric vehicles. This will also encourage the purchase of new electric motors and the conversion of engines from petrol engines to electric motors.
“For new electric motorcycles, the incentive is also around Rp. 8 million. Meanwhile, the conversion of motorcycles to electric motorcycles will receive incentives of around Rp. 5 million,” Agus said as quoted by YouTube’s Presidential Secretariat.
However, it has been explained that not all electric motorcycles will receive subsidies from the government. There are certain conditions for electric motorcycles to get subsidies.
“Incentives will be given to buyers who purchase electric cars or motorcycles that have factories in Indonesia,” said Agus.
