“To be honest, there are 100 days of war, but no heavy weapons have yet been delivered to Ukraine from Germany,” the ambassador said.

“To be honest, there are 100 days of war, but to date no units of heavy weapons have been delivered to Ukraine from Germany,” Andrius Melnik told German broadcaster ARD.

The ambassador welcomed the recent announcement by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz that air defense systems “Iris-T” will be delivered to Ukraine, but they will not reach Ukraine before the end of June.

Scholz announced on Wednesday in the Bundestag that “Iris-T” systems and radars will be delivered to Ukraine to identify artillery positions.

Germany also wants to supply multi-charge jets from the Bundeswehr reserves.

According to sociological surveys, the majority of Germans support the idea.

52% of Germans fully or partially support the idea, but 33% fully or partially oppose it, according to a survey by the research center YouGov.
