Gunfire continued between the TNI-Polri apparatus and Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Papua. Most recently, one person from the KKB died when a gun battle took place in Makki Village, Ilaga, Puncak Regency, Papua, Friday (21/5).
One KKB who died was a member of the KKB led by Lekagak Telenggen. Even so, no one has been able to specify the chronology of the clash, including the Head of Kogabwilhan III Colonel Czi IGN Suristiawa and the new Head of the Nemangkawi Public Relations Task Force, Kombes Iqbal Alqudusy, who can only justify the incident.
“Today, Friday, May 21, 2021 at 12.30 WIT, one KKB terrorist was killed,” said Iqbal when confirmed, Friday (21/5).
As is well known, conditions in Ilaga have continued to heat up since last April, as the number of armed clashes killed both the TNI-Polri and the KKB.
One of the KKB shot victims, namely the Head of the Papua Regional State Intelligence Agency (Kabinda), Brigadier General I Gusti Putu Danny Karya Nugraha, who was killed some time ago.
Previously, there were also attacks on the Security Task Force for the Troubled Areas of Infantry Battalion 403 / WP and Mobile Task Force for Infantry Battalion 310 / KK which was allegedly carried out by KKB led by Lamek Taplo.
During the attack, four members suffered gunshot wounds in the legs while crossing the wooden bridge 2 in Yapimakot Village, Serambakon District, Bintang Mountains Regency, Papua, Tuesday (18/5) night.
The four injured members were Serka Dian Hardiana and Praka Kuku Ismail from Infantry Battalion 310 / KK, Serda Sukrisdianto Yonif and Pratu Romi from Yonif 403 / WP.

In addition, the TNI stated that two soldiers from the Pamrahwa Task Force Infantry Battalion R 432 died when they were attacked by an unidentified person (OTK) in the airport area, Yhukimo Regency, Papua.
“On May 18, 2021 there was an attack by OTK at Zero Goliat Dekai Yahukimo Airport,” said Kapendam XVII Cenderawasih Lt. Col. Reza Nur Patria to reporters, Tuesday (18/5).
Head of the National Police’s General Information Section (Kabagpenum), Kombes Ahmad Ramadhan, noted that at least 150 KKB members are in the Papua region to date. This number is classified as a militant member of the group.
Not only targeting the authorities, the KKB also burned down the school building. In total there are eight regencies that are the monitoring points of the Nemangkawi Task Force because they are controlled by the KKB. The location is in a mountainous region.
