PAPUA, KOMPAS.TV – A member of the TNI from Infantry Battalion 403/Wirasada Pratista, Pratu Ida Bagus Putu, was reportedly killed during a shootout with an armed criminal group (KKB) in the Kiwirok area, Bintang Mountains Regency, Papua, on Tuesday (21/9/2021) morning.
Dandim 1715 Yahukimo Lieutenant Colonel Inf. Kristian Irreuw confirmed that there were victims who died during a shootout with the KKB led by Lamek Taplo.

The victim’s body has now been evacuated along with the body of a health worker or health worker named Gabriela Meilan using a helicopter owned by Penerbad.
The helicopter then landed at the Makodam XVII Cenderawasih field. Furthermore, the body of Pratu Ida Bagus Putu was taken to the Marthen Indey Jayapura Hospital.
Gabriela Meilan’s body, said Dandim, was also taken to Marthen Indey Hospital for an autopsy before being handed over to the family.

As is known, the armed contact of the KKB led by Lamek Taplo with TNI-Polri personnel in Kiwirok, Bintang Mountains Regency, Papua, has occurred since Monday (13/9/2021).
From the gunfight incident on Monday that lasted for about four hours, a TNI member suffered gunshot wounds to the hand and a number of public facilities were burned.
The public facilities that KKB burned were Puskesmas Kiwirok, Bank Papua Kiwirok District Representative Office, Kiwirok District Office, Kiwirok Elementary School, and Kiwirok Market.
