TNI Commander Admiral Yudo Margono ensure that his party will put forward persuasive ways to implement law enforcement in Papua. Yudo doesn’t want people to fall victim to the military approach taken by the TNI.
Admiral Yudo Margono initially spoke about the presence of TNI troops in Papua. He ensured that the existence of the TNI was only to assist the Police in enforcing the law.
“TNI troops who are in Papua are in the framework of carrying out law enforcement operations to assist the Police, so that the TNI does not have any additions, and remains as it is currently being held, both organic and imported from outside Papua,” Yudo told reporters, Monday (20 /3/2023).
“All of this apart from land borders and sea borders, they also carry out operations to back up the National Police in law enforcement,” he continued.
Yudo then discussed the condition of the Susi Air pilot who was held hostage in Papua. He ensured that he would carry out evacuation and rescue persuasively.
“Then earlier we will carry out the pilot persuasively, we don’t want casualties, both the community and the pilot, so we will continue to carry it out persuasively,” he said.
Yudo will also involve related regional heads to religious leaders and community leaders to help with the evacuation process. He emphasized that he would not use a military approach in solving this problem.
“Obviously relying on the Nduga Regent, the related regents, religious leaders, community leaders, we will mobilize all of them to help so that it can be carried out persuasively. I don’t want a military approach so that later there will be victims from the community and from other parties. so that it remains persuasive,” he said.
