Commander TNI Admiral Yudo Margono explained that the replacement of the Paspampres Commander (Danpaspampres) from Marsda Wahyu Hidayat to Brigadier General Rafael Granada Bay was in accordance with Paspampres operations.
The replacement of the Danpaspampres was stated in the Decree of the Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces Number Kep/114/I/2023 concerning Dismissal from and Appointments in Position within the TNI 31 January.
“Yes, Paspampres is due to operational needs at Paspampres,” Yudo said at the DPR Building, Thursday (2/2).
Rafael was previously Dir H Bais TNI while Wahyu subsequently served as Dankopasgat.
Wahyu has served as Danpaspampres since last June 2022. At that time, he replaced Major General Tri Budi Utomo who was promoted as the Commander of the Regional Military Command (Pangdam) VI/Mulawarman.
Wahyu’s appointment made history because for the first time the Danpaspampres was filled with high-ranking officers from the Indonesian Air Force (AU).
Previously, the position of leader of the number one guard in Indonesia was held by officers from the Indonesian Army (AD) or Indonesian Navy.
As for the latest transfer and rotation, a total of 84 officers in the Indonesian Army, Navy and Air Force have been transferred to new positions.
Apart from the Danpaspampres, the TNI Commander also replaced Pangkoarmada II from Rear Admiral TSNB Hutabarat to Rear Admiral Maman Firmansyah who previously served as Kas Regional Military Command III.
The position of Pangkoopsud II was also replaced from Marsda Widyargo Ikoputra to Marsda Andi Kustoro. Widyargo will fill the position of Wadan Kodiklatau.
Then, the Governor of AAL from Rear Admiral Denih Hendrata to Brigadier General (mar) Endi Supardi who previously served as Deputy Kormar. Denih will then serve as Asops KSAL.
