“The TNI AD regrets the incident. Actually, the handling of those who do not comply with the rules can be resolved by legal means,” said Head of the Army Information Service (Kadispenad), Brigadier General Tatang Subarna, in a written statement, Wednesday (25/8/2021). ).
Tatang said that the settlement of this commotion case had been carried out through family channels. However, the legal process continues in accordance with applicable regulations.
“Although the rioting case that is currently happening is being pursued through family channels, the legal process continues according to the applicable legal rules/stipulations,” he said.

Residents Hit Dandim Police
The commander of Kodim (Dandim) 1606/Buleleng, Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Windra Lisrianto, reported the residents of Sidetapa Village to the police for the beatings they experienced on Monday (23/5) night. The resident was policed for hitting the Dandim in the head.
The beating occurred during the rapid antigen screening in the village. The incident allegedly started when the Buleleng Kodim carried out an antigen swab test in the village. An antigen swab test was carried out for tracking purposes because there were 27 people who were confirmed positive for COVID-19 and two people died.
Prior to the beating, there were 104 people who had been swab tested for antigen and four people were positive for Corona. According to Windra, the antigen swab test was carried out by capturing people passing by on the streets because the residents there did not want to do testing and tracing.
While the officers were netting the residents, a motorcycle rider with a teenager who was still a student arrived. They were directed by a joint officer for rapid antigen testing.
The two of them ran away until they hit a member of the TNI. They then came back again and said, ‘Why are you blocking my way’. Both were then asked for an antigen swab test, but they struggled.
The student’s parents came and pulled their son home. Not long after, one of the students hit the Dandim in the head. Members of the Buleleng Kodim who were at the location also beat up the Dandim bat. The TNI personnel who allegedly beat up the residents were then processed by Pomdam IX/Udayana.
“We’ll just follow the process. So I was ordered from the Military Police, from the Danpomdam. What is certain is that we soldiers yesterday who took action to defend me after I was beaten have started to be summoned and questioned at the Military Police,” said Lt. Col. Windra.
“It may be resolved according to the legal process, because we have started the legal process for the Indonesian Army’s internal in accordance with the provisions of military law,” he added.
