TMEIC announces new headquarters and factory expansion in Texas

TMEIC Corporation Americasa subsidiary of the Japanese company TMEIC Corporationhas announced the relocation of its headquarters and expansion of a major factory in Texas by mid-March 2025, with the aim of improving its operations in the country.

The expansion of its manufacturing operations in the United States, with the construction of a new 144,000 square foot facility in Brookshire, Texas, dedicated to the production of photovoltaic inverters at both utility and industrial scale.

The company owns avast experience in photovoltaic inverters and energy storage systemsTMEIC, a global leader in renewable energy, has installed more than 50 GW of renewable energy systems globally by July 2024, of which more than 28 GW are in North America. This growth has consolidated TMEIC’s presence in the US market since 2010. Now, its new headquarters in the Houston Energy Corridor will allow it to continue driving the renewable energy industry closer to its key customers and partners.

“We are excited to make these investments to expand our presence in the Houston area with the relocation of our headquarters and the opening of our new manufacturing facility. These investments and expansions will potentially create up to 300 jobs in the local community,”

The decision to relocate its headquarters from Roanoke, Virginia, and expand its manufacturing capabilities in Texas, aligns with TMEIC’s strategic objectives of strengthening its position in the renewable energy technology and increase domestic manufacturing.

The New facility in Brookshirescheduled to open in October 2024, will be located near TMEIC’s existing Katy, Texas, plant, which manufactures uninterruptible power supplies and medium-voltage drives. With an initial production capacity of 9 GW per year, this plant will be equipped for expansion based on market demands.

Additionally, although the headquarters is moving to Houston, TMEIC will maintain its office in Roanoke, Virginia, where it will continue to focus on the design, development and engineering of advanced automation systemstechnologies for large AC motors and variable frequency drive systems for multiple industries around the world.
