KONTAN.CO.ID -JAKARTA. Indihome Business PT Telkom Indonesia Tbk (TLKM) will really get tough competition from colleagues and fellow State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN). Previously from a subsidiary of the State Electricity Company, now it comes from another BUMN.
Is PT Jasa Marga Tbk (JSMR) through its subsidiary PT Jasa Mrga Related Bisnis (JMRB) which will be serious about doing internet business by building fiber optic for internet data along the Trans Java toll road. Currently, Jasa Marga controls the length of the Trans Java toll road of 1,167 kilometers (km).
Subakti Syukur President Director of PT Jasa Marga Tbk said that JMRB as a subsidiary of JSMR that utilizes Jasa Marga’s toll road infrastructure is trying to take advantage of all the existing potential.
He said that JMRB did not go directly into the internet business. “But providing infrastructure back bone fiber optic which is used for data because JSMR has the advantage of having the longest toll road infrastructure that spans the island of Java,” he said to KONTAN, Wednesday (23/6).
Currently, said Subakti, and for the future, the potential for internet data business will be even greater along with the number of online, mobile and internet applications, especially with the existence of 5G infrastructure in the future.
Subakti said, JMRB’s business is to develop areas along the toll road including TOD. “For more details, you can ask the Director of JMRB,” he said.
Not only JSMR’s subsidiary. A subsidiary of PT PLN is also preparing to fight Indihome’s dominance in the fiber optic data package business.
