On Thursday, Zach’s wife, Tori, gave an update via Instagram shortly after her husband had one shunt in his brain is being repaired. For anyone who hasn’t taken biology class in a while, shunts usually consist of two catheters and a valve that drains excess fluid from the brain to another part of the body.
“Not exactly how I thought our week would go,” Tori captioned a series of photos from the hospital. “It’s been a scary 72 hours, but he’s doing well and recovering.”
Zach’s surgery comes just after Tori alludes to their family’s departure from the hit TLC series. When asked in December how long she and Zach plan to stay on the series, the mother-of-three says their time on the series may be coming to an end because of “all the misconceptions people have about her family because they only get to see what TLC shows them’.
