Tlaxcala, Tlax, June 29, 2021 (Gamaliel Jiménez) .- This day the installation of the Technological Baccalaureate of Education and Sports Promotion was announced in Tlaxcala, which will be housed in the facilities of the Luis Donaldo Colosio High Performance Center in the municipality of Tetla de la Solidaridad.
The announcement was made this day by Juan Pablo Arroyo Ortiz, Undersecretary of Higher Secondary Education of the Federal Ministry of Public Education (SEP), in the company of the governor-elect, Lorena Cuéllar Cisneros, who mentioned that the director of this campus will be the ex-marathon runner and outstanding Tlaxcala athlete Madai Pérez Carrillo.
The call is open to all young people who have completed their basic education at the secondary level, and who seek to continue their studies hand in hand with sport; In addition, there will be the possibility of residence for low-income students from remote areas.
This baccalaureate will be enabled in the facilities of the “Luis Donaldo Colosio” High Performance Center located in the municipality of Tetla, where the spaces for the classrooms will be adequate, since the rest of the facilities will be used for sports development.
This baccalaureate will be a space for young people from the State interested in developing their sports talent, in the disciplines of mid-range and long-distance athletics, to do while continuing their studies; Added to that they will have a scholarship and will have job opportunities at their conclusion in the sports field or will continue with their athletic training.
To enter, those interested must register and undergo a talent test, from which the first students will be selected; the tests will be next August 14 and 15 where said selective will take place; Hence, they invited young Tlaxcalans to enroll in this new educational scheme focused on sport.
The federal official explained that seven campuses will be enabled nationwide, one of which will be installed in Tlaxcala. In it they have contemplated the space for 70 students initially.
He also said that the federation prepares the protocol for the safe return to classes, and I hope that by then the teaching staff will already be vaccinated against COVID19 and will also seek a way for students to have the vaccine to avoid risks; meanwhile the start of classes will be online pending the corresponding indications and the measures established by the State Health Council.
The governor-elect, Lorena Cuéllar, recognized the effort of the Federal Government and pointed out that on behalf of your government, once it takes office, it will give full support for the development of this new study center.
