Hamburg – The lightning-fast build-up player could not agree on a contract extension with Hamburg Towers and is looking for a new challenge.
In his second year as a professional, the only 1.75 meter tall TJ Shorts matured into the leader of the field at the Hamburg Towers. Although the US-American was only five times in the starting five in his 37 games, he liked to take responsibility in the crucial minutes of a game and did not shy away from fearlessly attacking the basket against the biggest players in the Bundesliga. Timothy Neocartes Shorts II made 19 attempts near the basket in the 91: 86 home win against FC Bayern Munich. Behind teammate Maik Kotsar, who will also wear the Hamburg Towers jersey in the coming year, TJ Shorts was the player with the second most attempts from the two area (351, Kotsar 363) – overall he took the five most throws of all BBL professionals. With an average of 14.3 points, he was one of the ten best scorers in the league, his 5.3 assists were the third best value in comparison.

“We would have liked to continue working with TJ. Ultimately, however, sporting and economic factors couldn’t be brought together for us. We only wish him the best for the future, privately and in terms of sport, ”reveals managing director Marvin Willoughby.
