In cooperation with LEONINE Studios, the famous music group DIE FANTASTISCHEN FOUR for the new comedy OLD WHITE MAN the appropriate theme song “Weekendfeeling” written!
Overcoming pigeonholing and laughing and celebrating together, no matter whether young or old: The Fantastischen Vier provide the right soundtrack with “Weekendfeeling”: Energetic, the band celebrates life, friendship, music and their fans with you Music clipwhich combines their live power in a small Berlin club with the story of Heinz Hellmich (played by Jan Josef Liefers), which shows that even at 60 you can still get stranded in Berlin’s turbulent nightlife.
The song will be on the brand new as a focus track on October 4th Album “Long Player” has been released and will be shown in cinemas nationwide from October 31st!
LEONINE Studios will bring the humorous film by the award-winning filmmaker Simon Verhoeven and his producers Quirin Berg and Max Wiedemann as well as producer Kirstin Winkler to cinemas nationwide on October 31, 2024.
As with WELCOME TO THE HARTMANNS, which thrilled almost 4 million cinema-goers, or the successful MÄNNERHERZEN films, the new comedy also looks at the big and sensitive social issues of our time with a lot of humor and self-irony. In addition to Jan Josef Liefers in the leading role, the cast includes Nadja Uhl, Friedrich von Thun, Michael Maertens, Meltem Kaptan and Elyas M’Barek.
About the content of the film: Times are sensitive. Family father Heinz Hellmich finds this out the hard way when he is threatened with losing his job after a few clumsy missteps in the company. To prove that he is not an “old white man”, he invites his boss and other guests (or is it called guests?!) to dinner at his home. He and his family want to present themselves from their best and most politically correct side! But as the evening gets underway, Heinz moves from one celebratory meal to the next and realizes that his wife Carla, his children and even Grandpa Georg don’t exactly exude pure harmony. When everyone finally sits at one table after much turbulence, the family’s façade quickly begins to crumble…
The main roles are played by Jan Josef Liefers, Nadja Uhl, Friedrich von Thun, Michael Maertens, Meltem Kaptan, Elyas M’Barek, Yun Huang, Denise M’Baye as well as the young actors Momo Beier and Juri Sam Winkler. The multi-award-winning filmmaker Simon Verhoeven (German Film Prize, Bavarian Film Prize, Ernst Lubitsch Prize, Romy Award, Günther Rohrbach Film Prize, Peace Prize of German Film – The Bridge) is directing based on his original script. The producers are Quirin Berg and Max Wiedemann, winners of the Oscar® for THE LIVES OF OTHERS and producers of WEEKENDREBELLEN, MÄNNERHERZEN, DARK or 4 BLOCKS, as well as Kirstin Winkler (10,000 BC, 2012, Anonymous, GIRL YOU KNOW IT’S TRUE).
