Tite justified his statement given after the first game of the Carioca Championship
A sentence by Tite fell like a ‘bomb’ in the São Paulo press. After the debut in the Campeonato Carioca, the coach said that the state championship in Rio de Janeiro is the most difficult. WHAT TITE SAID
After Flamengo’s 4-0 victory over Audax on January 17, Tite praised the Campeonato Carioca. After the duel in Manaus, the commander compared it with Paulista, which, historically, is considered the most difficult, as it has many teams from series A and B of the Brasileirão.
— The current Campeonato Carioca, in my opinion, is the strongest in Brazil. Today. Before it was São Paulo, now it’s Rio. It’s very difficult. And our search is for classification, our search is for the Rio title. So this process of evolution aims at this goal. Maybe it’s little for Flamengo’s history, but it’s big for a coaching staff that’s coming. And it is a source of confidence for a sequence of work too — said the coach at the time.
CHAMPIONSHIP IS DIFFICULT FOR FLAMENGO
Tite’s statement is being ‘put into practice’ by Flamengo. After all, Rubro-Negro only occupies sixth place in the Carioca Championship. In other words, outside the G-4 of the competition.
