Titanic and Daryl Roth Theater (New York)

Okay, Celine Dion doesn’t have a stage presence, but Dee Roscioli imitates her to perfection. In addition to having an amazing voice, she makes the audience hysterical when she prepares the facial expressions of a Quebec pop star.

Titanic it’s a totally crazy off-Broadway musical. Imagine: Céline Dion arrives at a museum dedicated to the Titanic, and decides to tell her version of the most famous shipwreck in history. All to music by Céline Dion herself!

Aside from Dee Roscioli, the small (obligatory off-Broadway) cast of Titanic is not undeserving. I would mention Anne Fraser Thomas’ amazing performance as Molly Brown. What a voice!

The sound and lights are great. The sets are simple but enough, as the audience mostly laughs. And it’s great! I have rarely seen such a hysterical audience. There are many references to the movie Titanic, but also the references to strange culture and Dee Roscioli’s wonderful interpretation of it.

Despite this, I’m sorry that there is no brochure that holds up and that some jokes are a little easy… but again, we laugh a lot, carried by the big -American crowd (always a great audience).
