Steve Fukuda, the director of Titanfall and Titanfall 2, is currently leading a “very small” team at Respawn Entertainment to explore a new IP. According to Respawn director Vince Zampella, the team’s mission is to “find the fun in something new.” Fukuda is best known for his work on the popular FPS franchise, but there are currently no plans for Titanfall 3. Zampella stated that any new Titanfall installment would have to be the “right thing.” In the meantime, Fukuda is occupied with exploring a new IP. Respawn’s battle royale game, Apex Legends, exists in the Titanfall universe and could potentially complicate any new Titanfall franchise. Stay tuned to see what Fukuda’s team creates in their mission to “find the fun in something new.” For more Titanfall content, check out IGN’s coverage of the canceled secret Titanfall game and the movement innovations in Titanfall 2.
