– Tired employees increase the risk of errors

The supervisory authorities have received 64 reports of concern after the billion-dollar system Helseplattformen was put into use at St. Olav’s hospital. Five of these are referred to as serious for patient safety.

St. Olav’s hospital is the country’s fourth largest hospital and has around 11,000 employees.

On Wednesday, surgeon Monica J. Engstrøm operated on a patient at St. Olav’s hospital. Afterwards, she should enter that the patient had been taken off a medicine, and put on a new one.

But during registration in the new and controversial computer system Helseplattformen, she became unsure.
