Tire maker plans to build $87 million plant in Fort Worth

One of the world’s largest tire makers is set to build an $87 million plant south of Fort Worth.

Continental Tire has begun work on a 752,000-square-foot facility at 10101 Old Burleson Road, according to a document filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation last week.

The site will feature 7,500 square feet of supporting office space, with completion anticipated in early 2026. Dallas-based GSR Andrade Architects is listed as the architectural firm in charge of the project.

The filing with the state refers to the project as “Hillwood – Project Road Trip.” Representatives for Hillwood declined to comment on the project, and Continental Tire did not respond to questions before publication.

Continental Tire plans to spend about $87 million on construction, said Natalie Foster of the city’s development services department.

The project is currently under review.

Continental Tire hired the city’s expedited inspection team, so the inspection will be faster than usual, the official said.

Tarrant County records show Continental Tire purchased the land from Hillwood in late 2023. The property is in the area of ​​Hillwood’s Risinger/35 Logistics Park.

Continental’s is the most recent work in the area.

In August, Dick’s Sporting Goods announced plans to build an 800,000-square-foot regional distribution center.

Continental Tire has had a business presence in Dallas-Fort Worth in recent years. In 2017, the German tire company expanded its North Texas distribution center to Grand Prairie.
