Ponorogo residents are asked to remain vigilant in the dry season like now, because coughs and colds are prevalent so Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) must be improved. As stated by the Head of the Health Service’s disease prevention and control division, Anik Setyorini, during the dry season he received many reports of residents suffering from coughs and colds.
According to Anik, the duration is quite long, even up to a month. He suspects that the cold cough is not a common cold but leads to Covid-19, only because it has already formed. herd immunity so that the attacks are not as fierce as during the last pandemic.
“It’s true that the pain lasts a long time, some last up to a month, it goes away for a week and then it hurts again. It’s true that it’s too hot at the moment, and in the morning and afternoon, it’s incredibly cold,” he said to Echo Solar on Sunday (10/09).
In fact, Anik said, residents can prevent this with the booster vaccination that has been provided by the Government, while currently it is still free. Residents who have not had the booster vaccination are asked to immediately come to health services such as community health centers or health service offices.
“We are in the dry season, in fact it’s the same as us, the rainy season brings dengue fever and so on, in the dry season our people are a bit neglectful, even though in the dry season it’s no less intense, we have to prepare ourselves (regarding health),” he added.
Anik added that clean and healthy living habits (PHBS), for example using masks and washing hands, can also minimize the risk of coughing or colds, apart from that, in dealing with dry weather like this, we hope to eat nutritious food and get enough exercise.
