Not only our bodies are affected by heat, but also our electronics. Electrical and electronics engineer from Leeds Beckett University, Dr. Roz Wyatt-Millington listed the measures to be taken to prevent phones from overheating.

Why do phones have trouble working in hot weather? According to the BBC report Dr. Roz says that just as heat waves slow people down, processors experience the same:
“These chips that make phones work generate heat while they work. As the phone heats up, these chips slow down to avoid overheating and failing.”
Underlining that the battery life decreases as the batteries are forced to cool, Dr. Roz says that the screen brightness of the phones usually increases under the sun, and when the actions taken by the phones to prevent overheating are added to this, the devices can both slow down and consume more battery.
On the other hand, stating that screen protectors make it difficult to cool down because they trap heat inside the phone, Dr. Roz listed the things to be done to prevent the phones from overheating as follows:
Do not leave the phone on charge
Phones get hot while charging. If you charge your phone in a very hot environment, you will cause the device to heat up even more.
Avoid sunlight
Avoiding direct sunlight is one of the most important things. Don’t leave the phone in the car, keep it in the shade as much as possible, or even put it in front of a propeller if you can.
Don’t be too loaded
You can also ensure that the phone does not perform intensive operations in hot weather. Turn off GPS or anything you’re not using. The fewer apps you use, the less heat your phone generates.
Turn on low power mode
You can also use your phone’s low power mode for this. Another tip is to turn your phone off for a few minutes, wait for it to cool, and then turn it back on.
Do not put in refrigerator or freezer
Don’t think about putting your phone in a bag full of ice to cool it down. Sudden temperature changes can damage the phones, and the water that will emerge as the ice melts can get into your phone.
