Jakarta –
LED lights are increasingly common in today’s cars. LED lamps have many advantages. In addition to brighter light, LED lights can also be used for a long time. But due to certain errors, it is possible that the life of the LED lamp is shorter than it should be.
As explained by Autovision in its official statement, when choosing LED lights, in addition to bright power, the beam cut off needs to match the reflector on the vehicle to get a safe and comfortable light beam.
“Ideally lamps with LED technology generally look bright at first. However, the light will decrease as the temperature increases. Choose a good LED lighting product that is able to provide a smaller or more controlled decrease in light capacity,” said Director of CV Sampurna Part Niaga, Lily Hernawan.
Lamps with LED technology are very sensitive to voltage fluctuations. So it really needs a stable voltage (for example when the engine starts an old technology car), or the use of electronic devices that exceed the capacity of the vehicle’s battery (battery).
“Make sure the LED light heat dissipation system is always functioning properly. We recommend not using LED lights with a cooling fan on the rear for fog lights (usually in the lower position of the vehicle). The reason is because Indonesia’s weather conditions are dominated by high rainfall and drainage systems the highway is still not good. Puddles of rainwater in the form of mud are a separate problem for the durability of the cooling system for LED lights with fans,” he continued.
So, what can shorten the life of LED lights? The first is the bad voltage on the vehicle. Inadequate functioning of the cooling system on LED lights such as less than optimal airflow or engine heat which is a burden for cooling LED lights.
“In addition, standing water or mud during flood conditions triggers the possibility of damage to the fan on the LED lamp,” he said.
