Users can only add up to four devices, which can be used independently. When users add new devices, WhatsApp Web users may need time to sync messages and media sent and received on the primary mobile device.

To use, users must join the beta program by following a few steps, the details are as follows:

- WhatsApp will show information about Multi-device beta
- Join the beta program and tap continue
- Open WhatsApp on your laptop, desktop or tablet
- Scan the QR code on the device via the scanner on the smartphone
- The two devices will be connected and WhatsApp Web syncs messages
- Once connected, users will be able to send and receive messages via WhatsApp Web, even if the internet connection on the smartphone is lost.
