Photos – duplicate, hidden and deleted photos
A series of news has come to the Photos app, where the photos and videos you take with the iPhone end up. First of all, the Hidden and Recently Deleted albums are now locked, so they require Face ID or Touch ID from you personally to appear. Another novelty is that iPhone can find duplicates in your picture library.
When iPhone and iCloud look for duplicates, it does so to find exactly identical images. Duplicates are displayed side by side in the Duplicates album, where you can choose to merge them or delete a version. If you merge duplicates, the image with the highest resolution will be saved and image data such as caption, tags, album affiliation and the like will be combined in the saved image.
