The Kunstareal-Fest offers free entry to numerous Munich museums from July 16 to 21
Almost a big birthday: The 5th Kunstareal-Fest will take place from July 16 to 21, 2021! During the entire period, entry to all museums, cultural sites and universities in the art area is free. So who the paintings of the Pinakotheken Pay a visit or come back to the State Collection of Egyptian Art If you want to immerse yourself in pre-Christian Egypt, you can do so this month completely free of charge.
We particularly recommend the temporary exhibitions on Photography Today and Anish Kapoor in the Pinakothek der Moderne, the openings of which went under in the lockdown chaos of last November. All around there is also a multifaceted supporting program with a large number of events in the open spaces as well as in the digital space: guided tours, concerts, performances, events for children, installations and much more. Under the motto “Blickpunkte”, the area between Königsplatz and the Pinakotheken can be experienced in a unique way for all Munich residents and guests of the city. Here, too, the note: Of course, everything will be Corona-compliant and the current rules (distance, etc.) must be adhered to. In addition to the museums, all the universities in the Munich art area, as well as numerous cultural institutes and galleries, will be presented. Six days full of art, culture and knowledge: an experience to the power of 3!
Finally, a few general facts that de: The Munich art area, with its numerous well-known museums and universities, is one of the most important cultural locations in Europe. On an area of 500 x 500 meters, it presents more than 5000 years of cultural history with works from the glorious high culture of Egypt through antiquity to the present. 18 museums and exhibition halls, over 40 galleries, six internationally renowned universities and numerous cultural institutions are all in the immediate vicinity and within walking distance of one another.
The numerous cafés and restaurants around the area offer perfect opportunities to take a break to process and discuss the impressions you have just gathered while having a refreshment before your next visit to the museum. In short: the Kunstareal-Fest is the perfect diversion for art lovers, especially in this not quite normal summer 2021.
