Mayor Luis Barcala has inaugurated the catwalk dedicated to Andrés Mas Llorca (1920-1998), known as Tío Farina. But he was linked to the Brotherhood of Santa Cruz since its refoundation in 1945, in addition to being neighborhood mayor from 1970 and president of the Cruces de Mayo.
The mayor has affirmed that “the ‘Uncle Farina’ catwalk symbolizes the permanent link between the Santa Cruz neighborhood and the city of Alicante”. In addition, he has pointed out that “it is a more than deserved recognition of a person who became, with his work and dedication to the neighbors, a benchmark for one of the more traditional neighborhoods from the city”.
