Twerker Tinze’s company Tinze Oy received a notice from the Advertising Ethics Council.

The issue concerns a commercial video that was used to promote a dance studio called Tinzen Wonder Club. Wonder Club focuses on pole dancing and other dance forms such as twerking.

The video was shown in the public premises of shopping center Red. The shopping center accepted the advertising video, but according to the Advertising Ethics Council, the ad is not suitable for the shopping center.

One issue was the scantily clad outfits of the dancers in the video.

– The costumes of some individual dancers look more like erotic imagery than sporty dance costumes. This impression is supported by the movement of certain dancers and the focusing of the camera on them, the statement of the Advertising Ethics Council states.

According to the opinion requester’s opinion, the ad is against good manners, because “the ad publicly shows material with sexual undertones to which children are exposed in a public space”. Children meant people under the age of 13.
