Tini confesses that she has depression
This week Tini Stoessel released her fifth studio album which she titled Un mechón de pelo and in which she reflects a good part of the emotional crises she suffered in the last year and a half. The harsh hospitalization of his father Alejandro Stoessel, the ups and downs of his heart, the media correlation of his relationship with Rodrigo de Paul, the indirect darts that were dispensed with Cami Homs, the hate he received on social networks and his picture of depression are some of the elements that fed the conceptual script of the album in question.
“My hair was always something that represented a lot to me in my daily life, in my shows, in my career, in my videos… By always having it long, I felt like it generated a lot of strength in me and it was what represented me a lot. . But when I was diagnosed with depression, I began to have a process not only internally, but also externally. And with the hair it’s like… I looked in the mirror and I couldn’t find myself, I couldn’t find myself. I would go and change my hair color. And I looked in the mirror again, and it went on, and on, and on. All that searching that I was having on an internal level, so to speak, and on an emotional level, was reflected a lot in my hair and in who I am today. “How I have it today,” the singer developed in an interview with MTV on the occasion of this launch.
“And yet, even though it was short, I feel like a completely different woman for the better, empowered, that I grew a lot, that I learned a lot of things. And well, that’s why the album is called that, A lock of hair,” Stoessel explained.

In another part of the conversation with the music signal, Tini told how he came up with the concept of the album and what differences he found in this brand new work and the previous ones (Tini, Quiero Volver, Tini Tini Tini and Cupido). “The reality is that the process of this album was different from the processes I had previously with my other albums. And I entered the studio with the concept really already put together, with the songs developed conceptually even though they had not been written. So we went into the studio already knowing what each song was going to be about,” she explained.
“It’s a story from beginning to end, it’s an album that you listen to from the first song to the last. It is an album that tells you a story, at some point. And very deep, too, very complex. Just as the songs are, so do the visuals, the videos, and the photos. And that is why it was very important to us to develop not only the theme of the music, but also the visuals to accompany and to finish telling that story and each song really well,” she detailed below.
Regarding the audiovisual aspect, he said: “In these videos a lot of interpretation was needed. And acting and acting is something I really love doing. In this album that side was able to develop. One of the things I liked doing the most is, clearly, thinking about the idea of the video, developing it and then being able to interpret it in the best way I can.”

“One of the most beautiful things that this album has for me on a personal level is that I was able to speak. And it would be nice if that would encourage another person to be encouraged to say something that perhaps they never dared to say, to be encouraged to do something that they are not daring to do, such as freedom of expression, not being afraid to say if something hurt you. … I think the album has that message at the end, being able to speak. Today, being able to express all this made me grow a lot,” Tini concluded.
