Tineke Geessink, who became mother at 63, died

Tineke Geessink, the woman who gave birth to a girl in 2011 at the age of 63, has died. Geessink leaves a daughter of 9. Geessink died on June 25 in Sint Annaparochie, let her family know. The cause of death is unknown.

Geessink received publicity as the oldest pregnant woman in the Netherlands. The Friezin became pregnant through egg donation abroad. Nine years ago, she gave birth to a healthy daughter in Leeuwarden hospital.

In the Netherlands, Geessink was refused an IVF treatment because the age limit for this was 45 years. Doctors found the risks of test tube fertilization too great later in life.

Geessink therefore moved to Italy. There she was under treatment with Severino Antinori, the doctor who specializes in fertility treatments for women over 50 and even 60 years old.
