– I look forward to starting in the new position, but will really miss all my fantastic colleagues in Bank Norwegian. We have started our next expansion journey in Europe, the bank is excellently positioned, and the next CEO will take over a strong bank with a brilliant team in a very exciting time, says CEO Tine Wollebekk in the announcement.
Chairman of the board: No connection with bids from Swedish banks
At the beginning of March, it hit like a bomb in the market when the Swedish bank Nordax announced that it would buy Bank Norwegian for NOK 17.8 billion. However, both the market and the Bank Norwegian board felt that the bid was too low.
Then, in May, Nordax came up with an increased bid of NOK 100 per share. DN then wrote that the consumer loan bank’s sixth largest shareholder Egil Stenshagen’s Stenshagen Invest was also not satisfied with the increased bid.
– Does Wollebekk’s decision to withdraw something have to do with the offer from Nordax?
– No, it really does not have it, Tine is very clear about it herself. She says that now came an opportunity that she wants to pursue after four years in the bank. The fact that she is now moving on, we just have to respect and accept, says Nysteen.
– Does Wollebekk herself feel that she is not the right person to lead the bank further?
– No, she herself was very moved today when we talked about this. I think she has a lot of strong relationships and good friends in Bank Norwegian, he says.
– All such processes are very demanding for any organization. I’m just full of praise for everything Tine has done.(Terms)Copyright Dagens Næringsliv AS and / or our suppliers.
